Known worldwide as “La Luna de Mexico” Ana Gabriel is nothing short of a spectacular artist. Her songs are unquestionable hits and her fans in Latin America and the United States surpass the hundreds of thousands. She is revered for her incredible live performances, which sell out throughout stadiums and arenas all over the world. For this talented composer, writer, producer and singer, her race to the top of the charts and prominence in the music world, has been a story of hard work, passion, dedication and immense talent. Like her compatriots such as Juan Gabriel, or Vicente Fernandez with whom she not only shares her musical gifts but also a long stretching friendship, Ana Gabriel is considered one of the top Mexican musical ambassador. Her story begins 35 years ago in her native Tijuana, Baja California in her native Mexico where she won the local Valores Juveniles competition as a composer. This recognition earned her an opportunity to compete in the national edition of the famed OTI competition in Mexico, which she won earning her a recording contract with famed Mexican music house CBS Mexico. She was then given the opportunity to represent Mexico in the International Edition of the OTI competition in Portugal, but more importantly the world was beginning to notice the young and passionate raspy voice of Ana Gabriel. It is her second album, Sagitario, which brings Ana worldwide success. With hits such as “Eso No Basta”, “Y Aqui Estoy” and “Mar and Arena”, Ana begins what is now considered one of the most successful careers for a Latin American artist. She began to experiment with all types of genres, from the romantic ballads of the mid 80’s to rock infused music in the 90’s to powerful and traditional Rancheras, Ana range has covered all spectrum of popular music. Mix in a voice immediately recognizable for its passion and distinct raspiness; Ana is an icon in the Spanish-speaking world. Her utmost dedication to her art brought her more hits: “Pecado Original”, “Tierra de Nadie”, “Quien como Tu”. “Mi Mexico”, “Silueta”, “Luna”, “Ayer y Hoy”, “Vivencias” and “Huelo a Soledad”, just to name a few of her award wining albums in Latin America and the United States. She received her first Diamond album for “Mi Mexico” y a Double Diamond album for “En Vivo”. Her music has spread through every single country of the American continent as well as the European Union countries such as Spain, the Netherlands and Slovenia. The 90’s showed the world the multifaceted aspect of Ana: Pop music in 1996 with Vivencias; traditional Rancheras in 1997 with Con Un Mismo Corazon, which in turn was a self written and produced album, in which she opens in a duet with her longtime friend and “En la Plaza de Toros Mexico”; 1999 saw her going to her Ranchera roots once again, this time working together with renowned producer Emilio Estefan, Jr., and the product was “Soy Como Soy” an album that went gold in Latin America and brought her numerous accolades, among them Female Pop Artist of the Year at the 2000 Ritmo Latino Music Awards. The new millennium is showing Ana’s versatility and creativity once again, “Eternamente” in the year 2000 is a mariachi ballad album that uses only guitars and Ana’s powerful voice as its instruments. Dance tracks, powerful a cappella pieces, and pop songs in 2001’s “Huelo a Soledad”. The following year she released the Platinum winning “Sagitario”, also receiving the prestigious Billboard Latin Music Estrella Award for her contribution to the Latin Music industry. This was followed by more impressive albums, “Dulce y Salado”, “Tradicional”, “Dos Amores un Amante” and “Arpeggios de Amor”. She also received the prestigious lifetime achievement award Premio Lo Nuestro a La Excelencia in the year 2005. Overall, Ana’s success is cemented by an artist’ brave determination and unquenchable thirst to create art that is loved by thousands of fans: music that blends love with heartbreak, which speaks fundamental truths to her thousand of fans around the world. A producer, writer, singer and performer of great talent, Ana’s faith in God and love of her audience has contributed more to the Mexican music industry most female Mexican artists. A tan solo una horas de dar el Grito de la Independencia de su país, un 15 de Septiembre de 1974, en la ciudad de Tijuana, Baja California, se comienza a escribir la historia de una de las cantautoras mas grandes que México le ha dado al mundo – ANA GABRIEL. Pretender resumir su trayectoria y su historia en tan solo unas pocas palabras resultaría muy difícil, pero digamos que desde muy pequeña se dio cuenta que la música le atraía, y cantar y componer eran sus pasatiempos favoritos. La Guitarra, instrumento que hasta el día de hoy es su gran cómplice, la acompaña desde la corta edad de los 7 años.
No obstante no es hasta mediados de los años 80 cuando verdaderamente tiene la oportunidad de que una disquera la contrate para así darse a conocer a nivel internacional. De inspiración innata y perfeccionista y exigente consigo misma, Ana Gabriel comprueba con “Un Estilo”, su primer producción discográfica, que en esencia esa voz ronca y raspada eran lo que la mas tarde la convertirían en una intérprete con un sello único, que hasta el día de hoy la han llevado a permanecer en el gusto del público. Aun cuando todo parecía indicar que iba por el camino correcto, el triunfo aun no había llegado y fue entonces cuando KC Porter le produce su segundo álbum “Sagitario” con temas como “Eso no basta”, “Y Aquí Estoy” y ”Mar y Arena, los cuales pronto se convirtieron en éxitos, y este ultimo le abre las puertas a nivel internacional en Colombia. Poco después participa en el Festival OTI en México ganando el primer lugar para después concursar a nivel Internacional en Lisboa, Portugal y obtener el tercer lugar. Gran responsabilidad la que seguía, y sus deseos de triunfar se acrecentaban. Desde entonces Ana Gabriel no ha tenido que preocuparse por otra cosa más que por seguir haciendo sus discos con amor, y dedicación como al principio. Poco después le siguieron “Pecado Original”, “Tierra de Nadie”, “Quien Como Tu”, “Mi México”, “Silueta”, “Luna”, “Ayer y Hoy” “Vivencias” y “Huelo a Soledad “ entre otros. La mayoría de estos fueron acreedores de múltiples discos de Oro y Platino en Mexico, Estados Unidos y Latinoamérica, y hasta Disco de Diamante por “Mi México” y Doble Disco de Diamante por “En Vivo”. Alcanzar el sitio que hoy ocupa le ha llevado 34 años de arduo trabajo y de sacrificios sin fin, y de una superación constante como ser humano y como profesional. Su éxito no fue cosa de suerte, sino de su talento y constancia, y obviamente de su calidad artística. Siempre a la vanguardia musical, el talento, dedicación y temperamento de Ana Gabriel la han llevado a pasear su música por toda la Republica Mexicana, Estados Unidos, Latinoamérica y por países como España, Holanda y Eslovenia. Brillar con luz propia y con su estilo único de interpretar y “decir” es lo que le ha ganado el respeto y la admiración del público. Los escenarios fueron, y siguen siendo su mayor escuela, y aun cuando todavía los nervios le ganan antes de un espectáculo, al momento de tener a “SU PUBLICO” frente a ella, se olvida de todo y crea esa complicidad tan mágica entre ambos. Renovar o Morir es su lema, y las ganas de seguir aprendiendo día a día de la vida, de Dios, de sus amigos, sus hermanos, y de su público que la apoya cada vez que se lanza en un nueva aventura. Ese publico que nunca la abandona y le brinda las fuerzas para seguir dándose con todo en el escenario y a través de sus múltiples discos. Intentando abrir nuevos horizontes, Ana Gabriel lanza en el 2005 “Dos Amores, Un Amante”, producido por ella misma, rindiendo un humilde tributo a tres amigos – Roberto Carlos, Juan Gabriel y Vicente Fernández, el cual además contiene tres temas inéditos de su autoría. El sencillo de dicha producción – “Sin Tu Amor” nos brinda la oportunidad de escuchar nuevamente a la Ana Gabriel que todos esperábamos – romántica y pasional en todos los sentidos. Una producción cargada de emociones para movernos y conmovernos; para subirnos al cielo y para contarnos del error, para expresar el desamor, pero también para hablar del amor. Es la guitarra, su eterna amiga y compañera quien se convierte nuevamente en su cómplice para traernos su mas reciente trabajo discográfico - “Arpegios de Amor” – una contabilidad como bien ella lo llama de amistad y amor, y un réquiem para sus seres queridos que emprendieron su camino al llamado de Dios. La vida consiste de caminos donde solo hay encuentros y no despedidas, y es así como hoy Ana Gabriel nos hace “RENACER” titulo que da nombre a su gira mundial del 2008, y nos brinda la oportunidad de juntos compartir su experiencia de vida y su camino por la música.
